2010 UEFA Champions League game tracker from Adidas

If you happen to be a really big soccer fan and want to see the strategy behind every single play in every single 2010 UEFA Champions League game, you are a lucky one. Adidas’ well designed soccer game tracker allows you to replay every single shot, pass, tackle and goal for every single match in the competition. For a data geek like myself, I am totally amazed by how much data is being captured in every minute of the game. :)

The Times shuts down Play magazine

It feels like yesterday that I was doing some work for that magazine. I can’t believe that they will shut it down :( (. The newspaper industry is shrinking fast and the economy is not helping.

The Play Magazine used to be one of the places where The Times’ graphics desk spent great effort creating engaging interactive graphics. Since Play was a quarterly magazine, there was usually plenty of time available to plan and create interesting graphics. I am deeply saddened by the loss :\.

Visual guide to the Fifa 2006 Germany

Visual guide to the Fifa 2006 in Germany

This was the final project for my advance multimedia class at UNC-Chapel Hill. The project was supposed to be three weeks long. I was too busy freelancing, so I ended up working 20 hours straight to get it done on time.

The guide includes step by step animations explaining different rules in soccer. It also has an interactive map of the world showing all different participating countries and their winning records. You will also find an interactive map of Germany with all the venues where the games were played. On the top of all that, you have a coloring game for kids that let you color the official Fifa 2006 logo.
