8 Out of 8 (and Not Yet 8)

On July 16, 1983, a day before Terence Tao’s eight birth­day, Ken Clements, an expert on the edu­ca­tion of math­e­mat­i­cally gifted chil­dren, vis­ited the boys’ home to eval­u­ate his abil­i­ties. As part of the eval­u­a­tion, he gave Terry the fol­low­ing set of writ­ten ques­tions. Terry answered orally, with­out writ­ing any­thing down. All his answers were correct.
